Laura Manning brings a background of Occupational Therapy and Exercise Physiology to her clinical area of Lymphoedema Management and is a member of the ALA (Australian Lymphology Association), NLPR (National Lymphoedema Practitioners Register) and OTA (Occupational Therapy Australia).
Laura began work as a Lymphoedema Therapist in 2006 at St Vincent’s Clinic, Sydney and in 2017, relocated to beautiful QLD with her family. Enjoying her part-time private practice work, she also holds a public appointment as a Senior Lymphoedema-Vascular Occupational Therapist at The Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya. Laura has completed two accreditation courses with leading specialists Lymphoedema Consulting and Training Services (LCTS) and Lymphoedema Training and Education (LTE) – Sydney. These courses are ALA endorsed.
Using evidence based, best practice care, Laura treats all forms of Primary Lymphoedema, Secondary Lymphoedema, Lipoedema, Chronic and Complex Oedema and Venous Disease and has a special interest in the Early Detection and Management of Breast Cancer Related Lymphoedema.
Laura works closely with Oncologists, Surgeons, Radiation Oncologists, GP’S and Allied Health Professionals to ensure continuity of care.
The practice is equipped with HICAPS for a rebate with private health funds and patient’s may be eligible for an immediate Medicare Claim via the Enhanced Primary Care Plan. This allows for up to five subsidised Occupational Therapy treatments per year. Your GP will determine if you meet the criteria and have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs.
Compression garments can be prescribed at no fee under the QLD Health Guideline, if patients meet the eligibility and hold a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioners Card - see link.
